Heels Care Network Launched to address Student Health and Well-being

This fall we are launching the Heels Care Network, an integrated health and well-being effort to reinforce our community’s commitment to the overall health and well-being of our campus, to help all Tar Heels thrive, and to foster understanding of the interconnectedness of our success.

This initiative will encompass a number of programs, starting with:

  • Launch of a mental health hub website that will provide a comprehensive list of resources on campus and a place for students, faculty and staff to submit an anonymous form when they are concerned about a Carolina student who may be experiencing personal difficulties.
  • Promotion of mental health first aid training.

In addition, on Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will come together to address three important and related topics specific to mental health at Carolina: campus culture, crisis services and prevention. The Mental Health Summit will feature thought leaders who will share best practices from their respective fields.
