The Pantry Bowl is a fundraising initiative that unites two passionate fan bases — the Wolfpack and the Tar Heels — to bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity, which affects as many as one in five people on college campuses. This year, we raised an amazing $79,128.26 for the Carolina Cupboard! Thank you to everyone who spread the word, raised awareness or made a gift to strengthen food pantry resources at NC State and Carolina. We really do all win when we work together to address a cause as important as food insecurity.
Because of your passionate response, both food pantries exceeded their gift totals from last year. Feed the Pack will receive an additional $11,000 from Perry and Susan Safran and other generous donors, and Carolina Cupboard will receive an additional $10,350 from Mark Stone, Stone Family Foundation and generous Carolina supporters.
In the future, the goal is to create a pan-university food pantry system by raising enough resources to renovate our current location and create satellite sites in schools and units around campus. This will allow students to better focus on their academics by providing access to basic needs resources more conveniently and efficiently.
