No matter where our beloved Tar Heels are headed next, we can look back fondly at the 2022-23 school year (Jordan year) and appreciate how far we have come.
Student Affairs, which is comprised of 17 departments, stands at the heart of the University, constantly striving to provide essential programs and resources that foster learning, academic success, and personal growth for more than 31,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs at UNC.
Because of the generosity of the Carolina community and the deep appreciation of the positive impact of a well-funded Student Affairs, we have moved the needle one step closer to being a place where all students can thrive.
This academic year included the finale of the Campaign for Carolina, where Student Affairs exceeded previous goals with over $15,200,000 raised through the end of the campaign on December 31, 2022. Because of all of you and your endless support, UNC students continue to have access to 24/7 mental health resources, financial relief in case of emergencies, better tools to combat food insecurity, and a more inclusive and diverse Carolina.
This semester, Student Affairs saw enormous support through GiveUNC, our stand-alone day of giving for Carolina. We also defeated NC State for a second straight year in the Pantry Bowl, our annual friendly, fundraising competition for the Carolina Cupboard, which serves as an on-campus food pantry that provides food at no cost to students facing food insecurity.
The continued success and support means that the teams in UNC Student Affairs departments will be looking to the future and how best to improve the lives of our student Tar Heels! We want you to continue with us on that journey.
With your help, we can continue to build upon the support that we provide, as well as the wholistic experience that profoundly impacts our students and alumni for a lifetime.
We’re grateful for your love and support of Carolina.
Go Heels!
