Saluting Our Seniors

Lavender Graduation

Lavender Graduation is a commencement ceremony honoring graduating LGBTIQA+ and allied students. It is a cultural celebration that acknowledges the achievements and contributions that students of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions have made at Carolina. Recipients of the LGBTIQA+ Advocacy Awards were announced during the ceremony. This program is co-sponsored by the Program in Sexuality Studies, the Provost Committee for LGBTQ Life, and Student Life and Leadership.

Red, White and Carolina Blue Graduation Ceremony

The Red, White and Carolina Blue Ceremony (RWCB) recognizes all military-affiliated graduates – veterans, active duty, National Guard, Reservists, and ROTC Commissioners. The RWCB Graduation ceremony includes the presentation of colors, remarks from students and administrators, and the presentation of Military Honor Cords.

Campus Y

The Campus Y Senior Celebration gave graduating seniors who have been a part of the Y community a chance to be celebrated and honored for their time with the Campus Y. We hosted a drop-in event with refreshments and gift bags, that included certificates, swag, and mason jars with affirmations and words of appreciation. We held informal space for the seniors to hear from Campus Y staff and fellow students, and to share about their time here and their next steps after Carolina.
